NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt swimming team will close out their regular season this weekend as they square off against Tulane in New Orleans on Saturday. The meet with the Green Waves (1-5) will be hosted at the Reily Center Natatorium and will begin at 10 a.m. CT.

Saturday’s meet marks Vanderbilt’s final tune-up before the SEC Championships in two weeks (Feb. 17-20).

The Commodores (2-7, 0-4 SEC) have had a busy competition schedule as of late as Saturday marks their fourth away meet in the last two weeks.

VU earned its second dual win of the season last Friday when they edged Marshall 120- 118 at the Frederick Fitch Natatorium in Huntington, W.Va. Erika Deardorf swam into the school record books against the Thundering Herd with a blistering time of 10:14.87 to win the 1000-yard freestyle. The Commodores left Huntington with eight first place finishes out of the total 11 swim events.

A day later, Vanderbilt was faced with the difficult task of swimming against Kentucky and Cincinnati. Although VU fell in the duals, the Commodores tallied 15 top-five finishes against the Bearcats and Wildcats.

Final results and a recap of Saturday’s meet between Vanderbilt and Tulane will be posted on vucommodores.com.
