Pregame Notes
– This is the 37th meeting between the Lady Rebels and the Commodores.
– Vanderbilt leads the series 22-14, with the home team winning the last six (split 3-3).
– Vanderbilt holds a 12-3 edge over Ole Miss in the friendly confines of Memorial Gymnasium. The Lady Rebels have not won in Nashville since 1987.

Postgame Notes
– With the win, Vanderbilt moves to 12-2 (1-0) to begin conference play. Ole Miss falls to 9-5 (0-1) to open SEC competition.
Tiffany Clarke co-led Vanderbilt with 18 points, despite having left the game in the 4th minute of the second half and not returning until the 16th minute.
– The Commodores had four players in double figures, with Tiffany Clarke and Lauren Lueders each leading the way with 18. Merideth Marsh followed with 16 and Jence Rhoads with 11.
Lauren Lueders has surpassed a career-high of some kind in three of her last four games. The senior guard now has 103 3-pointers for her career and 28 on the season.
Jence Rhoads had the second double-double of her career, with 10 assists and 11 points. The last time a player dished out 10 assists was Rhoads herself against Austin Peay on November 27th, 2009 (11).
– The Commodores were 75% (9-12) from the 3-point arch. The last time Vanderbilt shot at that high of a clip was against N.C. State on November 28th, 2009 (63.6%, 7-11).

First Half Notes – Vanderbilt 47, Ole Miss 33
– The Commodores and the Lady Rebels traded buckets for the first three minutes of the first half until Vanderbilt began a 10-0 run highlighted by layups from Hannah Tuomi and Tiffany Clarke.
– By the second media timeout, Vanderbilt was 9-for-10 from the field.
– At the 13:43 mark of the first half, Jence Rhoads swiped the ball from Ole Miss and ran down the court for a fast break layup.
– The first 3-pointer of the game for Vanderbilt came at the 12:07 mark with a nothing-but-net shot by Jence Rhoads off an assist by Jessica Mooney and a steal by Merideth Marsh.
Lauren Lueders hit her first 3-pointer of the game at the 10:40 mark. This is her 25th of the season and 100th of her career.
Merideth Marsh bookended Lueders’ 3-pointer with one herself, at the 9:31 mark of the first half. That is the 202nd of her career and 34th of the season.
Tiffany Clarke eclipsed her first half total from her career-high performance against ETSU on Dec. 30th, 2009 (12) at the 5:44 mark of the first half. She ended the first half with 15 points, leading all scorers.
– All Vanderbilt players on the floor in the first half scored at least two points.
Jence Rhoads had nine points for the Dores along with seven assists in the first half.
– By the end of the first stanza, Merideth Marsh had already moved up the 1,000 point club list, cementing her place at 29th with 1,007.
– Vanderbilt shot 70% from the field. The last time they shot 70% for a half was against Kentucky on February 8th, 2009. The Dores were also 5-for-5 from the charity stripe.

Second Half Notes
– Vanderbilt allowed Ole Miss back within 10, but Lauren Lueders shifted the momentum with a much needed 3-pointer at the 16:26 mark of the second half.
Merideth Marsh bookended Lueders’ 3-pointer once again with one of her own at the 15:31 mark of the second half. This is her 50th game of her career with double-digit points.
– The Commodores let the Lady Rebels within nine, but once again, Lauren Lueders bailed the Dores out with a 3-pointer at the 13:44 mark of the second half.
Hannah Tuomi dished a perfect ball inside to Merideth Marsh for a layup at the 12:41 mark. This is Tuomi’s second game in a row with four assists, tying her career high.
– Once again, Lauren Lueders pushed the Commodores’ lead with a 3-pointer at the 6:35 mark of the second half. With this basket, she ties her career high in points (16) and 3-pointers made in a contest (4).
– At the 2:10 mark of the second half, Lauren Lueders hit her career-high in points with 18, with a layup off an assist from Jence Rhoads. With that assist, Jence reached her second double-double of the season.
Merideth Marsh hit her third 3-pointer of the game at the 1:26 mark of the second half. With this basket, she moved to 28th on Vanderbilt’s all-time points list with 1,018.
– The Commodores’ first half lead proved crucial in the second half, as Ole Miss stayed with Vanderbilt basket-for-basket in the second half with each team scoring 39.
