NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The 18th-ranked Vanderbilt women’s basketball team plays host to UC Riverside tonight at 7 p.m. inside Memorial Gymnasium.
The Commodores are 2-0 following victories over Lehigh and at Southern Illinois. Vanderibilt is led by juniors Hannah Tuomi and Jence Rhoads. Tuomi is averaging 16 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, while Rhoads has dished out 19 assists against only four turnovers in VU’s first two games.
Vanderbilt will be looking to avenge a 50-47 loss to the Highlanders last season in Riverside, Calif., which spoiled a homecoming for eventual WBCA Defensive Player of the Year Jennifer Risper. The Highlanders (1-2) lost nine letterwinners from last year’s Big West runner-up squad.
