Auburn, Ala. – After tough home losses against Arkansas and No. 10 LSU last weekend, the Vanderbilt Commodores are ready to prove their place in the conference with their last full weekend of SEC contests. The Commodores take on the Auburn Tigers Friday night at 7:30pm.

Vanderbilt is 7-6-1 and 1-5-0 in SEC play, while Auburn is 5-6-3 and 2-4-0 in conference match-ups. The `Dores narrowly missed a win against the Tigers last year, losing 3-2.

Friday’s match will be the second annual Under Armour “Power in Pink” match between the two teams. All donations made at the match will benefit the East Alabama Medical Center Foundation Breast Cancer Fund. Fans from both teams are encouraged to wear pink to the game.

The Commodores will then venture to Tuscaloosa to face the University of Alabama on Sunday at 1pm at the Alabama Soccer Stadium. Sunday’s match against the Crimson Tide will also feature a breast cancer awareness theme.

Alabama is 5-6-1 overall and 1-3-1 in SEC play. The Commodores dropped a tough game to Alabama last season, with the Crimson Tide coming away with a 2-0 win.

The Commodores had two key contributors return from injury recently, with junior midfielder Megan Kinsella and freshman midfielder Chelsea Stewart returning to action. Vanderbilt will look to them for depth in the midfield to capitalize on scoring opportunities.

Coming into the weekend, Molly Kinsella and Nicole Lukens lead the Commodores with 18 points and 13 points, respectively. Lukens scored the Commodores’ lone goal of the weekend against No. 10 LSU and will be looked to for leadership in two must-win SEC contests this weekend. Kinsella looks to continue her dominance in assists, as she is ranked 13th in the country in assists per game in Division I with .57.
