Team Superlatives

– Ole Miss converted on 10-of-18 third downs in the contest, while Vanderbilt was 5-for-17.

Warren Norman finished with 241 all-purpose yards in the contest. He had 143 yards on five kickoff returns, 86 yards on 14 carries and two receptions for 12 yards.

– Vanderbilt committed 12 penalties in the contest, the most since getting flagged 14 times for 141 yards against Middle Tennessee on Oct. 12, 2003.

Individual Superlatives

Brent Trice led the Commodore defense with a career-high 14 tackles, along with two tackles for loss and a quarterback rush.

Chris Marve finished with 11 tackles, the third time in five games this season he has reached double digit tackles.

Joel Caldwell finished with a career-best 10 tackles.

– Redshirt Junior Turner Wimberly started his first career game against the Rebels.

First Half

– Trailing 3-0 early in the first quarter, defenders Joel Caldwell and Theron Kadri stopped Ole Miss RB Dexter McCluster for no gain on third and short, forcing a Rebel punt.

Broderick Stewart notched his first quarterback sack with 5:02 left in the first quarter. He has 18 for his career, three shy of the team record.

– At the 3:19 mark in the first quarter, Jamie Graham made his first career interception, diving to cut off a pass from Jevan Snead at Vanderbilt’s 21-yard line.

Warren Norman had a 56-yard kickoff return at the 2:44 mark in the second quarter.

– Patrick Benoist had six tackles in the first half, including combining with Greg Billinger for a tackle for loss.

Second Half

– Junior linebacker John Stokes blocked an Ole Miss extra point at the 10:59 mark of the third quarter, marking Vanderbilt’s first blocked PAT attempt since November 17, 2007 against Tennessee.

– Sophomore defensive back Casey Hayward recorded his first career interception against the Rebels, returning the ball for six yards.

– Sophomore Udom Umoh recorded his first career rush for 11 yards on a 4th-and-1 for a Vanderbilt first down halfway during the third quarter.

– Vanderbilt had its first score of the game at the 5:54 mark in the third quarter, with Udom Umoh catching a 7-yard touchdown pass from Larry Smith. It was Umoh’s first career touchdown reception.

– Myron Lewis’ interception at the 1:17 mark in the third quarter was his third of the year. He returned the ball 29 yards to the Ole Miss 42 yard line.
