2009-10 Women’s Basketball Schedule | Buy Season Tickets Starting at $32
The Southeastern Conference announced its television schedule for the 2009-10 women’s basketball season, and the Vanderbilt Commodores will be featured on 11 regular season broadcasts.
The highlight of the television schedule is a Monday matchup against Tennessee on Feb. 8 that will be shown on ESPN2. Games at Tennessee (Jan. 17) and versus Kentucky (Feb. 14) will go national thanks to ESPNU.
Fox Sports South (FSN) will show the Commodores on three occasions — Jan. 14 vs. Georgia, Feb. 18 at LSU, and — for VU’s Senior Day — Feb. 28 vs. South Carolina.
Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS) has signed on to broadcast four Vanderbilt games. From Memorial Gymnasium, CSS will show the SEC opener against Ole Miss (Jan. 3) and the Florida game (Feb. 24). They will also show the Mississippi State and Auburn road games.
For the first time this season, the television package includes a weekly game on the SEC’s syndicated network. Vanderbilt’s contest at Ole Miss on Feb. 21 will be a highlight of that schedule.
On top of the regular season coverage, the Commodores will again be on TV all throughout the postseason. FSN is scheduled to air the first two rounds of the SEC Tournament, with ESPNU showing the semifinals and the championship staying with ESPN2. The NCAA Tournament will again be featured on the ESPN family of networks.
The Commodores will begin play one month from today with an exhibition game on Friday, Oct. 30, against Union (Tenn.) University. The regular season begins on Sunday, Nov. 15, when Lehigh visits Memorial Gymnasium.
Season tickets begin at $32 and are currently available through the Vanderbilt Ticket Office. Tickets may be purchased online anytime at vucommodores.com, by phone at 615-322-GOLD (5643) or in person at the McGugin Center on campus during regular business hours.
