Rising sophomore Marina Alex fired a second-round 78 on Friday and ended her first U.S. Open with total of 18-over par, 160 (82-78). The projected tournament cut is eight-over, 150 to advance to the final two days at the Saucon Valley Golf Course in Bethlehem, Pa.
Alex finished in a tie for 127th for the tournament after a 78 Friday. Alex posted 11 pars and seven bogeys in her round, hit nine of 14 fairways, and had 10 greens in regulation. She ended her round with 33 total putts.
Cristie Kerr leads the tournament with a three-under par total of 139 (69-70).
