Junior Chris Rockwell and senior Amber Lundskog have been named to the 2009 Southeastern Conference Golf Community Service Team.
The Community Service Team looks to highlight student-athletes from the SEC who gives back to their communities in superior service efforts.
An economics major from Owings Mills, Md., Rockwell represents the men’s golf team on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He has spearheaded the team’s involvement in the annual SAAC Christmas Party for Ross Elementary School, assisted with the Commodore Kids’ Zone at VU home football games and organized team trips to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
A human and organizational development major from San Diego, Lundskog is also an active member of SAAC. She has been involved in activities with local elementary schools, including Kids Zone, Halloween Trick-or-Treat, the annual Holiday Party and Field Day. She also is a four-year member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
Postseason selections for the 2009 NCAA Golf Championships will be announced next week.
