NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The No. 12 Commodore women’s lacrosse team plays host to No. 9 Notre Dame for Senior Day at the Vanderbilt Lacrosse Complex on Wednesday, April 15, at 3:30 p.m. CT.

Admission to the game is free, while those unable to attend can follow the game live via vucommodores.com’s official webcast and gametracker statistics.

Prior to the opening draw, Vanderbilt will honor its graduating class of 2009 — Jessica Demorest, Merissa Eide, Carolyn Gioia, Cara Giordano and Rachel Woolford. That class has been a part of 38 victories and hopes to become the first group of Commodores to make three consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament.

The Commodores (8-4, 2-2 American Lacrosse Conference) are looking to rebound from a tough road loss at league rival Ohio State, 15-13, on Sunday. Notre Dame (11-3, 4-2 Big East) also suffered a conference defeat away from home over the weekend, falling at Syracuse, 14-13.

The final week of the regular season will mean a lot for both teams as they look to position themselves for next month’s NCAA Tournament.

Vanderbilt owns an 8-4 advantage over Notre Dame in the all-time series, including victories in each of the last two seasons. The Commodores were 9-6 winners last year in South Bend. Notre Dame’s only win in Nashville came in the final game of the 2003 regular season.

Following Wednesday’s game, Vanderbilt will close out the 2009 regular season with a trip to No. 18 Cornell. Game time in Ithaca, N.Y., is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET.
