The Vanderbilt women’s golf team has added a one-day, 36-hole tournament to their schedule at Purdue this Saturday to make up for a tournament that was cancelled earlier this spring due to weather.
The Commodores will compete at the Ladies Midwest Shootout at the Kampen Course in West Lafayette, Ind., in a 12-team field, this Saturday in a 36-hole, shotgun start. Purdue, the University of Indianapolis, Cincinnati, IUPUI, Ball State, DePauw, Western Michigan, Butler, Franklin, Kentucky, and Kent State will compete with Vanderbilt in Saturday’s event.
Vanderbilt’s first tournament of the spring, the Pinehurst Challenge, was cancelled in early March because of snowy conditions. That has allowed the Commodores to put this event on their schedule.
VU will play this Saturday and then turn their attention toward the SEC Championships April 17-19 at the Cobblestone Park Golf Course in Blythewood, S.C.
