NASHVILLE, Tenn. –Vanderbilt and Belmont will meet in the second game of a home and home series Wednesday at 6 p.m. CT at Greer Stadium.

The Commodores are 17-10 overall and 3-6 in Southeastern Conference play after dropping two of three at Auburn over the weekend. VU is 7-0 this season in midweek contests.

Sophomore right-hander Chase Reid will take the hill in a limited innings start. Several other Commodore hurlers will see action as well. Reid is 3-0 with a 2.41 ERA and has 15 strikeouts and six walks in 18.2 innings of work. He carries a 13.1 inning scoreless streak into Wednesday’s contest.

Belmont is 14-12 overall and 8-4 in Atlantic Sun action after taking two of three against Florida Gulf Coast at Shelby Park over the weekend.

BU centerfielder Dylan Craig leads the team with a .384 batting average to go with six doubles and 16 RBI. Derek Wiley is the top power source with eight homers and 27 RBI and is fourth on the team with a .315 batting average. BU is hitting .287 with 27 homers and 173 runs scored (6.6 per game). Wednesday’s starter against Vanderbilt is still to be determined. The team sports a 5.42 ERA with 135 strikeouts and 99 walks in 221.0 innings pitched. Belmont faces Austin Peay Tuesday night before taking on the Dores.

VU leads the Belmont series 43-9 and have won the last seven meetings dating back to the 2003 season. The Commodores won 11-4 in the first game at Hawkins Field on March 18.
