Track opens outdoor season Saturday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt’s track and field team will return to track for the first time since the Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships as it travels to Clarksville, Tenn., Mar. 21, for the annual Austin Peay Spring Fling. Saturday’s meet will get underway starting with field events at 8 a.m with running events to follow beginning at 12 p.m.

The Commodores enter the outdoor season after following below the team’s expectations at the SEC Indoors last month in Lexington, Ky. Throughout the indoor season, Vanderbilt was led by sophomores Taylor Jackson and Rita Jorgesen and freshman Teegan Hill, Louise Hannallah, Jordan White and Anna Carr.

The emergence of VU’s distance medley relay team of was one of the many highlights of the indoor season for the ‘Dores. The DMR team of Jorgensen, Hill, White and Hannallah posted the team’s top-place finish at the SEC Indoors, finishing fourth out of ten DMR teams.
