Haselden leads Seminole Intercollegiate

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Vanderbilt sophomore Ryan Haselden shot a five-under 67 to tie for the day one lead at the 2009 Seminole Intercollegiate, hosted by Florida State University at the Golden Eagle Country Club.

As a team, the Commodores stand in third place after the first 18 holes. Vanderbilt is two strokes behind Ole Miss and only one stroke shy of second-place Virginia. Mississippi State and host FSU round out the top five in the field of 12 teams.

Haselden carded six birdies against only one bogey to finish Friday’s round tied with Joe David of Ole Miss atop the individual leaderboard. A total of nine players carded rounds under par on Friday.

Senior Jon Curran and freshman Trey DelGreco both rank in the tournament’s Top 20 after a pair of two-over 74’s. Senior Tyler Matthews and junior Hudson Johnson each recorded rounds of three-over 75. Matthews and Johnson are tied for 26th position with 36 holes left to play.

The tournament’s top three teams will tee off together tomorrow at 1 p.m. ET. Live scoring of the event is available at golfstat.com.
