The Vanderbilt Commodores cap a two-game road swing against Georgia Wednesday night at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens. The game tips off at 6:30 p.m. CT, with no television scheduled for the contest. The action can be heard live on the Vanderbilt-ISP Radio Network and vucommodores.com, with Joe Fisher and Tim Thompson on the call.

The Commodores and Bulldogs will meet for the second time this season – Vanderbilt came away with a 50-40 win over Georgia on January 14 at Memorial Gym. The 50-40 win marked the first time Vanderbilt was victorious with that few points since they defeated Princeton, 49-44, on December 21, 1985, and the 40 points scored by Georgia was the lowest total points scored by an opponent against Vanderbilt since Nicholls State scored 40 points on December 16, 2006. The 40 points scored is also an SEC low for the 2008-09 season for points scored.

Vanderbilt and Georgia will play for the 128th time on Wednesday evening, with Vanderbilt holding an 81-46 overall advantage in the series. Georgia leads the series, 30-26, in Athens, but Vanderbilt has won the last four meetings with the Bulldogs and five out of the last six. Commodore head coach Kevin Stallings is 10-8 against the Bulldogs, and 3-6 against them in Athens.

Vanderbilt dropped an 82-68 decision to Florida in their last time out, the first time this season the Commodores have allowed 80 points or more to an opponent. The Gators jumped on Vanderbilt early, and held the Commodores scoreless for almost eight minutes in the early goings of the game to pull away. Florida shot 61.2% from the floor and 52.6% from three, while Vanderbilt connected on 41.7% of its shots from the floor and 33.3% from three. The Commodores outrebounded Florida, 31-27, and outscored the Gators, 14-4, off of second chance points, marking the sixth time time in seven SEC losses that VU has outrebounded an opponent. In all, Vanderbilt has outrebounded their opponent in 20 of 26 games this season. Vanderbilt center A.J. Ogilvy led the Commodores with 18 points. Guard Brad Tinsley added 12 points and George Drake contributed 10 for the Commodores.

Ogilvy leads the Commodores in scoring on the 2008-09 season at 14.8 points per game. Jeffery Taylor and Jermiane Beal add 12.2 points per game, and Tinsley chips in 10.4 points per contest. Ogilvy leads all VU players on the glass with 6.9 rebounds per game. Taylor pulls down 6.2 rebounds per contest and is second on the team behind Ogilvy.

Georgia enters the game Wednesday with a 10-17 overall record, 1-11 in league play. Terrance Woodbury leads the Bulldogs with 14.1 points per game, and freshman Trey Thompkins adds 12.3 points per contest for the Bulldogs. Thompkins leads Georgia on the glass with 7.1 rebounds per game.
