NASHVILLE, Tenn. –Vanderbilt baseball will open its 2009 home campaign Wednesday against Western Kentucky at 4 p.m. at Hawkins Field.

The Commodores went 1-3 on their annual trip out West, losing two of three to Stanford and a single game against Cal over the weekend. The young Commodores had a late lead in all of the losses before falling by just a run in each contest.

Junior shortstop Brian Harris led the offense over the weekend, hitting .385 with a homer and four RBI from the leadoff spot. As a team the Commodores are batting .289 with four homers and 25 runs scored.
