The Vanderbilt Commodores hit the road for the first time in two weeks when they travel to intrastate foe Tennessee on February 14. The game tips off at 2 p.m. CT, and will be televised on Raycom Sports. The action can be heard live on the Vanderbilt-ISP Radio Network and vucommodores.com, with Joe Fisher and Tim Thompson on the call, and the game can also can be watched online at ESPN360.com.

Vanderbilt will meet its most played rival this Saturday in Knoxville, with Tennessee holding a 107-67 advantage in the overall series after defeating the Commodores, 76-63, earlier this season at Memorial Gym. The Volunteers also lead the series, 68-20, all-time in Knoxville. Vanderbilt head coach Kevin Stallings is 8-11 against the Volunteers, and has a 3-6 mark at Thompson-Boling Arena. His last win at Tennessee came in an 88-63 victory on January 8, 2005.

Vanderbilt is on a three-game winning streak after defeating Ole Miss, 71-61, on February 7 at Memorial Gym. Sophomore A.J. Ogilvy led the charge for Vanderbilt with 17 points and nine rebounds, with Jeffery Taylor (14), Brad Tinsley (12), and Lance Goulbourne (11) each adding double figures. The Commodores shot 54.9% from the field (28-51), the second time in three games VU has eclipsed the 50% mark from the floor. In their last four games, Vanderbilt is 110-for-212, a clip of 51.8% combined, a turnaround from the team’s first five games in SEC play, when the Commodores were 112-for-286 from the field (39.2%). Balance has also been key in the team’s last four games, with four players scoring in double figures in each contest.

The three game winning streak is a first for Vanderbilt since winning six consecutive games from December 10 to January 3.

Ogilvy leads the Commodores in scoring on the 2008-09 season at 14.8 points per game. Freshman guard Jeffery Taylor adds 12.7 points per game, and junior Jermaine Beal is next at 12.6 points per contest. Freshman guard Brad Tinsley also chips in 10.5 points per contest. Ogilvy leads all VU players on the glass with 7.0 rebounds per game. Taylor pulls down 6.1 rebounds per contest and is second on the team behind Ogilvy.

Tennessee enters the game with a 15-8 overall record, 6-3 in SEC play, after defeating Georgia at home, 79-48, Wednesday night at Thompson-Boling Arena. Junior forward Tyler Smith leads the way for the Volunteers at 17.2 points per game, with Wayne Chism (13.2) and J.P. Prince (10.1) also averaging double digits. Chism leads Tennessee on the glass with 8.6 rebounds per game.
