NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt’s track and field team returns to Lexington, Ky., this weekend for the Rod McCravy Memorial Track and Field Meet, Feb. 6-7. The Commodores will be one of 17 teams, including four from the SEC, competing in the annual meet.
The meet marks the second of three indoor events that the Commodores will compete at Kentucky’s Nutter Field House. The Wildcats will host the 2009 SEC Indoor Championships Feb. 28 – Mar. 1
The `Dores are coming off a strong finish at the Indiana Invitational (Jan. 23-24), in Bloomington, Ind. Vanderbilt finished the meet with a season-high 10 top-five finishes, including two from sprinters Anna Carr and Taylor Jackson.
Freshman Teegan Hill has been a nice addition to the VU squad this season as she has established herself as one of the team’s best sprinters. In her last meet, Hill cruised to a seventh place finish in the 400-meter dash with a team-high time of 57.70.
In the distance events, Rita Jorgensen, Louise Hannallah, Kristabel Doebel-Hickok and Adrienne DiRaddo have all posted strong performances in the team’s first two meets of the 2009 campaign.
