David Price headlines Smyrna benefit

Feb. 2, 2009

SMYRNA, Tenn. — Former Vanderbilt and current Tampa Bay pitching sensation David Price will appear at the Smyrna Bowling Center Saturday, Feb. 7 to benefit the memory of Nathan Stephens, a long-time friend. Tickets are $10.

The proceeds will go to a scholarship fund at Murfreesboro’s Blackman High School, where Price and Stephens attended.

There will be a silent auction beginning at 10 a.m. and running to 5 p.m. with an autograph session that involves the former national collegiate player of the year that starts at 10:30 a.m. The autograph pictures carry a small added charge that goes toward the benefit.

Attendees can also bowl from noon to 5 p.m. for just $10, half of those proceeds going to the scholarship fund. Price, a left-handed pitcher, will rotate among the various lanes bowling right-handed to protect his valuable arm.

There are also a limited number of tickets for a VIP breakfast with Price that starts at 9 a.m.

For ticket information, please call Harry or Sue at the Smyrna Bowling Center at 615-355-0501. The Smyrna Bowling Center is the home of the No. 1 rated Vanderbilt bowling team.
