ATHENS, Ga. — The 17th-ranked Vanderbilt women’s basketball team takes its undefeated Southeastern Conference record on the road this Thursday for a nationally televised game at Georgia. Fox Sports will broadcast the matchup, with the tip-off scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.
The Commodores (14-4, 3-0) are coming off back-to-back home wins against last year’s top two SEC seeds, Tennessee and LSU. Vanderbilt has won 7-of-11 games against Georgia since Head Coach Melanie Balcomb came to Nashville prior to the 2003 season.
Georgia (12-7, 1-2) most recently dropped a 61-45 decision at Florida, but the Lady Bulldogs are a strong 7-1 this season at home inside Stegeman Coliseum. UGA Head Coach Andy Landers captured his 800th career victory last week by beating Savannah State, 74-28.
Vanderbilt will briefly return home following Thursday night’s game before hitting the road again to face South Carolina on Sunday, Jan. 25, at 1 p.m. CT.
