On Chisholm’s Play
Chanel really stepped up for us today. She created so many aggressive opportunities for our team. She came off the bench and gave us a huge spark. I am proud of the way she played today.

On Wirth’s first-half struggles
It could be a combination of things. One of the big reasons I think she has struggled is that every team is keying in on her. Teams are applying a lot of defensive pressure on her outside game because they know her strength is her outside shot. I thought she did a much better job in the second half because we were able to give the ball to her in the post and she made some good plays for us.

On outrebounding LSU
We struggled offensively in the first half but we were able to get a lot of offensive rebounds and that led to second chance points. If we can rebound on the offensive end like we did today (21 rebounds) in every game this year, we will have a great chance to win.

On improving to 3-0 in the Southeastern Conference
We are just taking it game-by-game. We can’t afford to look ahead in this league. When you look at our schedule of the three games that we just played we have put ourselves in a good position.

On having five players in double figures for the third straight game
It’s big anytime you can have balanced scoring. Having five players score in double figures makes it harder for teams to prepare for us.

Van Chancellor, LSU Head Coach

“We knew going into the game that Vanderbilt was an extremely physical team and that they were going to be a tough matchup for us. I want to give credit to Vanderbilt because they played extremely hard and they did a great job of executing their offense. We tried to throw everything we could at them defensively and my credit goes to them for responding to the adjustments that we threw at them.”

“I thought Hannah Tuomi played a great game for them down in the post. We saw what she was able to do against Tennessee last week so we knew that she would give us problems. She played very strong on the block for them and they really hurt us on the offensive glass.”

Chanel Chisholm came off the bench to give them a spark and we didn’t have an answer for her. Chisholm hurt us on the inside today.”
