– Vanderbilt started junior Jermaine Beal, sophomores A.J. Ogilvy and Darshawn McClellan, and freshmen Jeffery Taylor, Brad Tinsley. The last time Vanderbilt used this starting line-up was against UMass back on Jan. 3, 2009. Vanderbilt is 3-1 when starting with this line-up.
– Beal leads the team with 50 career starts, including 45 straight. Ogilvy made his 14th start of the season and 48th of his career. Taylor made his 16th start of his career while Tinsley made his 14th consecutive start and 14th of his career.
First half notes – Vanderbilt 26 Georgia 18
– Georgia won the opening tip.
– Georgia scored the game’s first six points and led 6-0 with 17:57 remaining in the first half.
– Trailing 12-8 at the half-way point of the first half, Vanderbilt put together a 6-0 run to take a 14-12 lead with 7:31 remaining in the half. Vanderbilt expanded its consecutive run to 10-0 with a lay-in by Jermaine Beal giving the Commodores a 19-12 lead with 5:19 remaining in the half.
– Vanderbilt was 11-30 (36.7%) from the field while Georgia was 9-27 (33.3%) from the floor.
– Georgia outrebounded Vanderbilt 21-16 in the first half.
– Vanderbilt outscored Georgia 16-12 in the paint during the first half.
– Ogilvy led the Commodores with eight points at the half while Beal added six.
– Vanderbilt did not make a three-pointer during the first half (0-8). It marks the first time that Vanderbilt has not been successful on a three-pointer since they went 0-for-9 in the first half against Tennessee on January 17, 2008.

Second half notes:
– With Lance Goulbourne’s three-pointer at the 17:20 mark in the second half, Vanderbilt extended its streak of consecutive games (714) with a three-pointer, dating back to when the three-point line was established in the 1986-87 season. The Commodores streak ranks second only to UNLV (722) for the longest streak in Division I basketball. Vanderbilt, UNLV and Princeton (611) are the only three schools in college basketball to accomplish this feat.

– With the win Vanderbilt improves to (12-4, 1-1 SEC) while Georgia falls to (9-8, 0-2 SEC)
– With the win Vanderbilt now leads the all-time series with Vanderbilt 81-46. The Commodores are now 50-13 against Georgia in games played in Nashville.
– Vanderbilt has now won four-straight games and five of their last six games against Georgia Bulldogs.
– The 50-40 win marks the first time Vanderbilt has been victorious with that few points since they defeated Princeton 49-44 on December 21, 1985.
– The 40 points scored by Georgia is the lowest total points scored by an opponent against Vanderbilt since Nicholls State scored 40 points on December 16, 2006.

– Georgia two free throw attempts are the fewest attempts by an opponent against Vanderbilt this season.
– A.J. Ogilvy was the only Vanderbilt player to score in double figures (18). This is the first-time all season that only one Vanderbilt player scored in double-digits. Ogilvy’s four steals marks a career high.
– Vanderbilt outscored Georgia 8-0 in fast break points.
– Vanderbilt finished the game 20-49 from the field (40.8%) while Georgia was 18-54 (33.3%).

– The 50 points is the fewest points scored in a win over an SEC opponent since they defeated Florida 47-46 on March 3, 1982 in the first round of the SEC tournament.
– The 50 points scored by Vanderbilt marks the fewest points scored in a regular season Southeastern Conference win since they defeated Alabama 49-35 on January 8, 1951.
