WBB wraps up non-conference play

AMES, Iowa — The women’s basketball team completes the final game of its non-conference schedule on the road against Iowa State Saturday at 2 p.m. CT.

The Cyclones (10-2) will host the Commodores at Hilton Coliseum fresh off a 76-46 home win over North Dakota in the Cyclone Challenge. Heather Ezell leads Iowa State, who is 5-0 at home this season, in scoring with 11.3 per game.

Ezell, a senior guard, also tops her squad in the assists and steals categories. Kelsey Bolte, Alison Lacey and Nicky Wieben average over nine points each for the Cyclones as well. Lacey constitutes ISU’s leading rebounder with 6.4 a contest.

Vanderbilt possesses a 2-0 all-time series advantage with ISU, including a 62-53 victory in the VU Thanksgiving Tournament at Memorial Gym last season. VU holds a 15-10, 6-5 on the road, all-time mark against Big 12 opponents.

The No. 19 ‘Dores (11-3) last took the court against No. 6 Notre Dame on Dec. 30 in Memorial Gym. Coach Balcomb’s unit lost a close contest 59-57 to the highly ranked Fighting Irish.
