NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Josie Earnest was named the national “Bowler of the Month” by the Bowling Writers Association for her outstanding performance on Junior Team USA.
Earnest, a junior from Vandalia, Ill., won four Gold Medals and one Silver at the Pan American Bowling Confederation Youth Championships in El Salvador. Her Golds came in singles, trios, team and all events with the silver in doubles. She averaged 214.08 in 24 tournament games.
“This is quite an honor for Josie,” said Vanderbilt Coach John Williamson. “The bowler of the month can and often does come from the professional ranks, so it is a real boost to NCAA bowling for her to be recognized in this fashion.”
