Reynolds falls at U.S. Open

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Former Vanderbilt men’s tennis player Bobby Reynolds lost in the second round of the 2008 U.S. Open on Friday, falling to 11th-seeded Fernando Gonzalez in the men’s singles draw.

Reynolds, who advanced to the third round at Wimbledon earlier this summer, dropped his match to Gonzalez, 7-6(6), 6-4, 6-4. Reynolds reached the second round after defeating Tomas Zib in five sets on Tuesday.

Reynolds is currently ranked No. 89 in the ATP rankings and was competing in his fifth U.S. Open. Reynolds played in all four Grand Slam Tournaments this season, advancing to at least the second round in three of the four.
