Visit ItsGoodtobeGold.com for Interviews
In order to better familiarize the Vanderbilt sports nation with some of its leading student-athletes, Vanderbilt Athletics has unveiled “It’s Good to be Gold”, a campaign that features a unique web site focused on current Commodores.
The site, www.itsgoodtobegold.com, has exclusive interview clips with top representatives from each varsity team. The interviews spotlight the personalities and life histories of these Commodores and were conducted last spring with play-by-play announcer Joe Fisher and recorded by a leading sports videographer.
To enhance the web site, a colorful poster and new logo have also been designed. The poster uses high level photography of the same Commodores in their game uniforms.
“We want to better acquaint the Vanderbilt sports fans with our tremendous student-athletes,” says Director of External Relations Rod Williamson. “We have always been proud of our Commodores and now we have new ways to help us show others just how special they are. Vanderbilt athletes have unique challenges in that they compete in Top 20 classrooms and in their sport against the nation’s best athletes. Some of their interviews are funny, others are inspiring and all of them are interesting.”
Vanderbilt athletics has used “It’s Good to be Gold” for several years but this is its first opportunity to expand the expression into a creative story-telling format.
The posters are free and will be available at Dore Jam this Sunday, Aug. 17 from 4-6 p.m. After Dore Jam, posters can be picked up at McGugin Center between 8:30 – 5:00 week days.
