LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Vanderbilt incoming freshman Brittni Hamilton of Webster, N.Y. has finished second at the 2008 Teen Masters, a prestigious junior tournament that attracts top bowlers from around the country.
Hamilton was edged in the best two out of three game championship format by Tiffany Shubrooks of Robesonia, Pa. Hamilton won the first game but lost the second and potentially clinching game by a single pin before dropping the deciding game.
Hamilton was the dominant bowler through much of the week and entered the match play finals seeded fifth while Shubrooks was 31st. In the last three years, Hamilton has finished first, third and second at the Teen Masters.
Earlier this summer Hamilton earned a place on the Junior Team USA at the Junior Gold Tournament in Detroit. She is pictured (right) with Vanderbilt Coach John Williamson after that event.
