BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Ask Bears insiders who they think is having a good training camp and the same name invariably comes up: Rookie wide receiver Earl Bennett.
The third-round draft pick from Vanderbilt has consistently displayed speed, quickness and excellent hands since the Bears arrived at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais.
Bennett’s highlights include a leaping catch with a defender draped all over him Wednesday, a sliding catch on fourth down to keep a drive alive during a two-minute drill Friday and a key 26-yard reception on a skinny post route in a two-minute drill Saturday.
