Nashville sports historian Bill Traughber, who has researched and written the Commodore History Corner on vucommodores.com for years, recently was honored by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association.
Traughber earned second place feature writing from the TSWA for his articles on Lamar Alexander, Watson Brown, Ty Cobb and his Vanderbilt football practice and the 1893 Vanderbilt/Geneva feature that appeared on vucommodores.com. He also won third place Writer of the Year honors for his work with the Nashville Sounds.
He has been honored frequently, winning best feature writer honors in 2003, 2005 and 2006 from the TSWA.
