Reynolds drops match at French Open

PARIS – After posting a first-round victory in the first singles match of his career at the French Open on Wednesday, former Commodore Bobby Reynolds was unable to continue his success on Thursday when he lost in the second round of the main singles draw.

Facing No. 69 Nicolas Lapentti in the second round, Reynolds took the match four sets before falling, 7-5, 6-4, 5-7, 7-5. Lapentti will face Ernests Gulbis in the third round. Gulbis upset No. 7 James Blake in the second round.

Although, Reynolds lost in singles play, his time at the French Open is not over just yet. He is also competing in the main doubles draw with Rajeev Ram. The duo will face Agustin Calleri and Lapentti in the first round.
