NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt swimming and diving head coach Jeremy Organ announced that Elizabeth Brunk has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Vanderbilt and swim for the Commodores beginning in the fall of 2008. Brunk joins Laura Dillon and Allison Voss, who signed during the fall signing period, in the 2008 recruiting class.
“I am very excited to add Elizabeth to our incoming class,” Organ said. “She is a well rounded swimmer who has the ability to be competitive in a number of events on the team.”
A native of Raleigh, N.C., Brunk swims for the Marlins of Raleigh club team under the tutelage of head coach Paul Silver. Brunk has been a Scholastic All-American three years and finished third and fourth at the 2007 North Carolina state meet in the butterfly and breaststroke, respectively. She also qualified and attended 2006 summer Nationals and Juniors on the 400 medley relay team.
Brunk also excels in the classroom. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society. She has been named to the Honor Roll all three years in high school and was a recipient of the Mount Holyoke Book Award.
