BATON ROUGE, La. Â Sophomore Mallory Hitt scored a career-best 4560 points to finish third in the heptathlon at the LSU Combined Events, held this past weekend at the Bernie Moore Track Stadium on the campus of LSU.
Hitt’s best finishes came in the 200-meter dash and the long jump, finishing third and recorded PRs in both contests. The Vanderbilt sophomore turned in a career-best time of 25.77 in the 200-meter dash, improving her season-best time by nearly a second. In the long jump, Hitt recorded a jump of 17’11”, which was also a career-best performance.
The Baton Rouge native also recorded personal best marks in the 800-meter dash and the 100-meter hurdles. Hitt ran the 800 meters in 2:33.21, good for a sixth-place finish. In the 100-meter hurdles, Hitt finished the event in sixth place with a personal-best time of 15.35.
