MADISON, Miss. — The Vanderbilt men’s golf team looks to continue its recent hot streak this week at the Bank of America Intercollegiate at the Reunion Golf and Country Club.

Reigning Southeastern Conference Player of the Week Jon Curran leads a strong Commodore contigent into the two-day, 54-hole event in the heart of Mississippi. Curran, a junior All-American, has placed in second or better in his last three tournaments, including a victory at the 2008 Seminole Intercollegiate in Tallahassee, Fla.

Sophomore Hudson Johnson edged out Curran to win the 2008 Kauai Collegiate Cup and lead the Commodores to their first team victory under second-year Head Coach Tom Shaw. Seniors Billy Whalen, Brett Lange and John Ebert will round out the Commodore lineup this week, while freshman Adam Hofmann will compete in the tournament as an individual.

The 15-team field includes three of VU’s SEC rivals, including LSU, Mississippi State and host Ole Miss. The teams are scheduled to play 36 holes on Monday, beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. CT.

The Bank of America Intercollegiate closes out the Commodores’ 2008 regular season schedule. Vanderbilt will compete in the SEC Tournament in two weeks in Sea Island, Ga.
