CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The 11th-ranked Commodore women’s lacrosse team travels to face eighth-ranked North Carolina on Saturday, March 8.
The game’s opening draw is scheduled for 12 Noon ET at UNC’s Fetzer Field.
Head Coach Cathy Swezey’s Vanderbilt squad (5-0) is playing its third road game of the season after sweeping UMBC and Lehigh during a Mid-Atlantic swing two weeks ago. North Carolina (4-1) is finishing out a season-opening six-game homestand before heading out to Eugene, Ore., next week.
Sophomore Sarah Downing leads the Commodores in points this season, averaging 3.4 goals and 2.0 assists game. Downing scored four goals and added two assists in VU’s 12-8 win over another Atlantic Coast Conference opponent, Virginia Tech, on Tuesday.
North Carolina lost its first game of the season when Penn defeated the Tar Heels, 8-7, last Saturday.
