TUSCON, Ariz. — The Vanderbilt women’s golf team returns to the course to begin its spring season February 25-27 at the Wildcat Invitational at the Arizona National Golf Club.
The Commodores, ranked #19 in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index ratings, will send seniors Liebelei Lawrence and Julie Bartholomew, junior Jacqui Concolino, sophomore Brooke Goodwin, and freshman Megan Grehan to compete in the tournament.
The 2008 Wildcat Invitational is a 54-hole event, which will be contested at Arizona National, a par 71, 6,238-yard layout. Eighteen holes will be played each day with tee times scheduled from 8-9:40 a.m. MST.
Twelve of the 16 teams in the field are ranked in the top 30 of the Feb. 10 Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index ratings, including the top four teams in the nation. The field includes (ranking): Arizona State (3), Auburn (9), Brigham Young, California (10), Duke (2), New Mexico (24), Oklahoma State (17), Pepperdine (18), Stanford, Texas (30), UCLA (1), UNLV, USC (4), Vanderbilt (19), Washington and host Arizona (8).
Former Arizona head coach and current Commodore mentor Greg Allen will return to Arizona for the first time to compete against his former team.
