To date, what has been your most memorable experience at Vanderbilt? “Last year as a whole was great.”
Who are your best friends on the team? “Everyone gets along with each other, but I’ve been with the seniors for three going on four years. The seniors and I are really close.”
What is your hardest class this semester? “Social Research Class.”
How many hours are you taking this semester? “18 in order to graduate.”
What are your future aspirations aside from baseball? “I haven’t really thought about that, but I think I’d be a good coach.”
How many siblings do you have? “I have four brothers. A couple of them live in Houston, Texas, and one lives in Venezuela.”
What types of music do you listen to? “I listen to George Strait and country a lot.”
How did your summer in the Cape Cod League compare to the summer before? “I didn’t play as well this past summer as I did the previous one, but I had a great roommate, host family, and it was a lot of fun.”
What is your individual and team goal for this season? “I want to help this team make it as far as we can go. Ultimately, we want to make the national championship and win it.”
What professional baseball player would you compare to your game? “I like Brian Roberts in particular because I like the way he plays. I try to mold my game after him.”
Do you see yourself playing infield or outfield professionally? “I’ll go wherever they tell me to go, but down the road, I think I see myself as more of an infielder than an outfielder. I don’t think I’m as fast as some of those other centerfielders in the major leagues.”
Who is the toughest pitcher you faced in college? “It was probably (Sean) Watson from Tennessee. He had some pretty good stuff.”
Who is your best friend on another team? “I had a roommate this summer named Joey Gonzalez from Riverside. He was a good friend of mine. He was a good guy.”
