NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Although they won’t join Vanderbilt’s men’s tennis team until next fall, Vanderbilt’s 2008 recruiting class has already received praise in national recruiting rankings.

On Monday, tennisrecruiting.net revealed its Winter Recruiting Class Rankings, and has Vanderbilt’s fall signing class of Alex DiValerio and Charlie Jones ranked No. 20.

Jones, who hails from Destrehan, La., is currently ranked No. 33 in the nation and No. 1 in Louisiana by tennisrecruiting.net.

A native of Malvern, Pa., DiValerio is currently ranked No. 79 in the nation and No. 5 in the state by the same site.

The No. 20 ranking was also the fourth highest among schools in the Southeastern Conference. Stanford’s class was ranked No. 1.

The No. 33 Commodores opened their spring slate on Sunday with a 4-3 win over Michigan State. Vanderbilt will return to the court this weekend with matches against Samford on Saturday and Memphis on Sunday.
