Team Records and Series Notes:
– Vanderbilt improves to 8-0 on the season, while Wake Forest drops to 5-2 on the campaign.
– The win ties the fifth best start in school history and is the best start since the 2003-04 season when the Commodores started the year 12-0.
– Vanderbilt now leads the all-time series against the Demon Deacons 5-4 and 3-2 in games played in Nashville. Tonight’s win is the first for the Commodores against Wake Forest since winning 72-68 on March 17, 1998.
– The Commodores are now 76-69 against members of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
– Since the 1945-46 season, the Commodores are 345-124 in games played in December.
– Vanderbilt returns to action on Saturday night as it hosts cross-town foe Lipscomb. Opening tip is set for 8 p.m. and the game will be carried live on CSS-TV and on the Vanderbilt/ISP Radio Network with Joe Fisher (play-by-play) and Tim Thompson (analyst).

Vanderbilt Team Notes:
– Key Run: Trailing 78-76 with 1:40 remaining, Vanderbilt went on a 6-0 run. Freshman Andrew Ogilvy scored all six points for the Commodores during the run, including a hook shot with 33.7 seconds left to put the `Dores up 80-78 and a pair of clutch free throws with 16.1 seconds remaining to stretch the lead to 82-78.
– Key Stat: The charity stripe again proved the difference for Vanderbilt. The Commodores shot 23-of-27 (85.2 percent) from the line, while the Demon Deacons struggled, making 13-of-20 (65.0 percent) shots.
– Vanderbilt tied a season high with 40 rebounds.
– The Commodores shot 26-of-59 (44.1 percent) from the floor tonight. Vanderbilt has shot better than 40 percent in every game this season.
– The Commodores have yet to trail at halftime this season.
– Vanderbilt attempted a season high 24 three-pointers, making eight on the night.

Vanderbilt Individual Notes:
– Senior swingman Shan Foster led the Commodores in scoring with 26 points, tying a season high. With tonight’s performance, Foster moved into 12th place, passing Scott Draud, on the Vanderbilt all-time scoring list with 1,483 points. Foster also moved into fourth place on the career three-point field goals attempted list. The Kenner, La., native has taken 648 threes in his Vanderbilt career.
– Tonight’s performance also marks the 25th time in his career that Foster has scored 20 or more points in a game. Foster also pulled down seven boards and had two steals.
– Freshman center Andrew Ogilvy tallied his fourth 20-plus point scoring effort on the season with 23 points. The freshman scored six of the last seven points for the `Dores. The Australian made 9-of-10 free throws for the Commodores, including four in the last 90 seconds of the game. Ogilvy also pitched in five rebounds and tied a career high with two blocks.
– Sophomore guard Jermaine Beal scored eight points for the Commodores and also dished out five assists. Beal has dished out five or more assists in his last three games.
