Team Records and Series Notes:
– Vanderbilt improves to 7-0 on the season, while Georgia Tech falls to 3-4.
– The Commodores have won their first seven games of the season for the first time since the 2003-04 season when the `Dores opened the season 12-0. It is the ninth time in school history that a team has started a season 7-0.
– Vanderbilt leads the overall series with Georgia Tech 39-31, including a 23-4 series edge in Nashville. Vanderbilt has won the last two meetings against the Yellow Jackets. The Commodores are now 75-69 against members of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
– Vanderbilt improves to 654-184 all-time at Memorial Gymnasium. The Commodores have won 93 of their last 99 games against non-conference opponents at home and are 140-13 at home against non-SEC foes since 1990.
– Vanderbilt returns to action on Wednesday night as it hosts the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Tip time is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be carried live on Fox Sports Net and the Vanderbilt/ISP Sports Network with Joe Fisher (play-by-play) and Tim Thompson (color analyst).

Vanderbilt Team Notes:
– Key Run: Leading 19-13 with 11:38 remaining in the first half, the Commodores reeled off the next nine points to take a commanding 15-point advantage. Senior center Alan Metcalfe scored six of the nine points for the Commodores during the run. The `Dores stretched the lead to 20 at halftime and would lead by as many as 28 in the second half.
– Key Stat: Vanderbilt used hot shooting in the first half to pull away from the Yellow Jackets. Vanderbilt connected on 17-of-26 (65.4 percent) field goals and 7-of-11 (63.6 percent) three pointers, while holding Georgia Tech to 11-of-29 (37.9 percent) from the field and 2-of-7 (28.6 percent) from beyond the arc.
– The Commodores outrebounded the Yellow Jackets 30-27. The Commodores have won the battle of the boards three times on the season.
– Vanderbilt played stellar defense on Georgia Tech leading scorer Anthony Morrow. The Commodores held Morrow scoreless in the first half, with his first bucket of the game coming with 13:41 remaining in the second half. Morrow finished with 12 points, well below his average of 18.7 points per game.
– The Commodores scored 50 points in a half for the second time on the season. Vanderbilt scored 53 points in the first half earlier in the season against Bradley.
– Vanderbilt attempted a season high 37 free throws, making 24 of their attempts.

Vanderbilt Individual Notes:
– Senior guard Shan Foster led the Commodores in scoring with 17 points, his 11th consecutive double-figure game. Foster has led the `Dores in scoring in five of the team’s seven games.
– Freshman center Andrew Ogilvy added 16 points and a team-leading six rebounds for Vanderbilt in only 22 minutes of action. Ogilvy has scored more than 15 points in six of his first seven games as a Commodore.
– Senior center Alan Metcalfe recorded his second-straight 10-plus point performance, finishing with a career-high 15 points and five rebounds in 17 minutes of action.
– Senior guard Alex Gordon was the fourth Commodore in double figures after scoring 11 points. Gordon also had five assists and three rebounds.
– Freshman guard Keegan Bell scored his first career points in the first half, knocking down a three-pointer. Bell finished with six points.
– Sophomore guard Jermaine Beal dished out a career high nine assists. Beal has recorded 16 assists in the last two games. The sophomore also added seven points and two steals.
