BERKELEY, Calif. — The 18th-ranked Vanderbilt women’s basketball team joins the Contra Costa Times Classic this weekend, playing the St. Mary’s Gaels at California’s Haas Pavilion Saturday at 6 p.m. CT.
The Commodores also will take on host California, ranked 13th in the latest ESPN/USA Today Coaches’ Poll, Sunday at 3 p.m. CT. The Bears played host to the Gaels on Friday evening, winning by a tally of 77-61.
The Gaels had notched three straight victories prior to Friday’s loss, while the Bears have won two straight games since suffering their first loss of the season at Baylor.
Vanderbilt travels to California fresh off a 68-55 win over No. 10 Duke. The Commodores have won four of their last five games against ranked opponents, dating back to late last season.
