NASHVILLE – Vanderbilt 6’6 senior guard Shan Foster was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week for his exploits at Toledo last Tuesday when he scored 21 points on 7-of-15 shooting, made four three-pointers, and grabbed eight rebounds in the Commodores’ 77-70 win at Savage Hall.

The accolade is Foster’s first SEC Player of the Week award in his four-year career, and is the second Commodore to be honored by the league in 2007-08. Last week, 6’10 freshman A.J. Ogilvy claimed the SEC Freshman of the Week award, the first for a Vanderbilt freshman since the award began in 2005, after he scored 19 points and had nine rebounds in his collegiate debut against Austin Peay.

The Commodores continue their 2007-08 campaign Tuesday night in Memorial Gym against Valparaiso at 7 p.m. Season tickets are still available for as low as $75, and single-game tickets are available for the game against the Crusaders for $15.
