TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The No. 17 (USA Today/ESPN)/20 (Associated Press) Vanderbilt women’s basketball team faces its first road game of the season on Wednesday, Nov. 14, traveling to face Indiana State. The game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. CT tip-off inside ISU’s Hulman Center.
The Commodores (2-0) began the season with a pair of home victories over UAB and Furman last weekend. Junior forward Christina Wirth, a preseason All-SEC selection, leads the team in scoring with an average of 14.5 points per game.
Indiana State (1-0) opened the year with an 89-55 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The Sycamores connected on 41-of-47 free throw attempts on their way to the convincing win.
Vanderbilt and Indiana State met for the first time last season in the championship game of the 2006 VU Holiday Classic. The Commodores won that contest, 89-75.
