MG: Play Suspended At Mason Rudolph

FRANKLIN, Tenn. — The second round of the 2007 Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate has been suspended due to inclement weather conditions Monday in the area of the Vanderbilt Legends Club of Tennessee.

Play is scheduled to resume at 8 a.m. CT on Tuesday morning. All 93 players were on the course when play was halted around 2:45 p.m. due to heavy rain. After consulting forecasts for the remainder of the day, tournament organizers decided to stop Monday’s play.

A two-hour delay that began around 11:30 a.m. also caused problems on Monday morning, but Legends’ staff was able to get the course back to playing shape until the weather turned foul again.

Ole Miss held a one-stroke lead over Mississippi State after round one of the event, originally scheduled for 54 holes. Following the completion of the second round of play, officials will evaluate the feasibility of playing a final 18 holes. The event can be considered official after 36 holes if conditions do not allow play to continue.
