BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Vanderbilt men’s golf team makes its second stop of the 2007 fall season this week at the Shoal Creek Invitational at the Shoal Creek Country Club.
The 12 teams in the event are scheduled to play 36 holes on Monday and close with 18 on Tuesday.
The Commodores got off to a shaky start at last weekend’s Carpet Capital Collegiate before closing with a solid final round of play.
Two players from Head Coach Tom Shaw’s opening lineup — junior All-American Jon Curran and sophomore Hudson Johnson — will compete in Birmingham, with senior Brett Lange, freshman Ben Klaus, and senior John Ebert playing their way into this week’s lineup.
Shoal Creek, a Jack Nicklaus-designed course, will play host to the 2008 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship next July. The course hosted the PGA Championship twice — in 1984 and 1990.
