Basketball coach Kevin Stallings has announced that Festus Ezeli, a 6-11, 245-pound center, signed scholarship papers and will attend Vanderbilt.
Ezeli, a native of Nigeria, becomes the sixth member of this year’s freshman class. He graduated from high school at the age of 14 before moving to Northern California.
“He jumps well, he’s really long and has a strong defensive presence,” Stallings said. “He’s got the hands and the touch to be a good offensive player. We are very pleased to have him join our program.”
Vanderbilt signed point guard Keegan Bell, forward Andre Walker and post Andrew Ogilvy during last fall’s recruiting period and added forward Darshawn McClellan in the spring and wing Charles Hinkle in July.
