View 2007-08 Women’s Golf Schedule
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Under the direction of new head coach Greg Allen, the 2007-08 Vanderbilt women’s golf team will compete in nine regular-season tournaments beginning with the Mason Rudolph Championship, Sept. 14-16 at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin.
Other highlights from the challenging schedule include participation in the NCAA Fall Preview, Sept. 24-26 in Albuquerque, N.M., the Arizona Wildcat Invitational Feb. 25-27 and the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic March 21-23.
“This team’s ultimate goal will be to win a national championship,” Allen said. “I’m a believer that playing against the best competition will make you better. That’s what this schedule provides – a chance to play against the top teams and individuals in the country.”
The Commodores will defend two team titles during the fall season. Vanderbilt won team medalist honors at both the Lady Tar Heel Invitational and the Stanford Fall Intercollegiate to conclude the stroke-play portion of its fall schedule last year. The Commodores travel to Chapel Hill, N.C., Oct. 5-7 and Palo Alto, Calif., Oct. 19-21.
The University of Tennessee will play host to the Southeastern Conference Championship April 18-20 at the Honors Course in Loudon, Tenn. NCAA Regional competition is schedule for May 8-10 at various sites around the country, including the University of Georgia (East), the University of Texas (Central) and Sacramento State University (West). The four-day NCAA Championship will take place in Albuquerque, N.M., May 21-24.
