OAKMONT, Pa. — Two former Commodore standouts will be in the 156-man field of the 2007 United States Open Championship, June 14-17, at Oakmont Country Club. Former VU All-Americans Brandt Snedeker and Luke List will both take part in the 107th Open this week on Oakmont’s par-70, 7,230-yard West Course.

Snedeker, a 2003 graduate of Vanderbilt and current PGA Tour professional, qualified for the Open last week at the Colonial Country Club in Memphis. Following his qualifying rounds, Snedeker placed fifth at this weekend’s Stanford St. Jude Classic at the TPC Southwind.

List played his qualifying rounds in Rockville, Maryland, advancing to a three-way playoff for the final two qualifying spots before being named the sectional’s top alternate. List joined the Open field today after David Howell was forced to withdraw from the tournament with a wrist injury.

List is competing in the Open for the third time in his young career. He was 18 years old when he first played in the Open in 2003 at Olympia Fields’ North Course, returning two years later to take on Pinehurst No. 2 in 2005.

Snedeker has been grouped with Christian Cevaer and Steve Marino. Their group will leave from the 10th hole at 12:41 p.m. Thursday. List will play with J.J. Henry and Rod Pampling on Thursday and Friday, opening play at 1:47 p.m. ET Thursday from first hole.
