ATHENS, Ga. — The Vanderbilt women’s tennis team faces Stanford in the Round of 16 in the 2007 NCAA Women’s Tennis Championships Friday at 11 a.m. CT on the Henry Feild Stadium courts at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
The Commodores, making their ninth consecutive appearance in the Round of 16, are looking to advance to the quarterfinals for the first time since 2004.
Vanderbilt and Stanford have met twice in the NCAA Tournament — in the 2004 semifinals and 2001 championship — with the Cardinal winning both matchups.
The Commodores tore through the Nashville regional, sweeping through both Ohio Valley Champ Murray State and Southeastern Conference rival Tennessee by identical 4-0 tallies.
