ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. — The Vanderbilt men’s golf team travels to the Georgia coast this weekend for the Southeastern Conference Championships, April 20-22, at the Sea Island Golf Club.

Traveling to this week’s event are seniors Luke List and Dos Goldsmith, junior Billy Whalen, and sophomores Jon Curran and Tyler Matthews.

List’s resume includes three Top 20 finishes at the event, being held at Sea Island for the seventh consecutive year. Curran, Goldsmith and Matthews have each played in one SEC Championship.

This season, List and Curran have been consistently impressive for the Commodores — combining for a total of 11 Top-10 finishes while appearing in every team event.

For Vanderbilt Head Coach Tom Shaw, it is his first trip to the SEC Championship.

“The SEC is widely regarded as the toughest golf conference in the nation,” Shaw said. “And it’s exciting to be part of something so big. The league currently boasts three of the top five teams in the nation, so there will be a lot of talent at this event. I know our team won’t have any trouble getting up for this kind of competition.”

The 54-hole event will be played on Sea Island’s par-70, 7,005-yard Seaside Course. The stacked field includes Golfweek’s No. 1 team (Georgia) and individual (Florida’s Billy Horschel).

The Commodores join Florida and LSU in Friday’s first group with tee times set for 8:00, 8:10, 8:20, 8:30 and 8:40 a.m. ET. Live scoring of the entire event is available at Golfstat.com.
