LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 17 Vanderbilt women’s tennis team will face the No. 28 Kentucky Wildcats on the road for their last regular season match on Saturday.

In 2006, the Commodores defeated the ‘Cats during regular season play, but were upset by UK less than a week later at the SEC tournament.

The Wildcats (17-5, 6-4) are currently winless in the SEC East and recently dropped two 4-3 matches to Florida and South Carolina. Earlier this week, Kentucky squeezed in a non-conference doubleheader, defeating Eastern Kentucky and Cincinnati 7-0.

Vanderbilt will enter Saturday’s contest with a 15-7 season mark and an 8-2 conference record. Last weekend the Commodores fell to then-fourth-ranked Florida, but notched a 5-2 victory over No. 22 South Carolina. Sunday’s win secured a Commodore bye in the upcoming SEC tournament.

Kentucky seniors Kim Coventry, Joelle Schwenk and Caroline Winebrenner will be recognized during pre-match Senior Day events. Competition is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. in Lexington.
