The sixth-ranked Vanderbilt women’s golf team competes in the PING-Arizona State Invitational March 30-April 1 at the Karsten Golf Course (Par 72, 6,230 yards) in Tempe, Ariz. The Commodores have performed well in recent tournaments, including a second-place finish at the LSU-Cleveland Golf Classic two weeks ago.
The 17-team field for the Ping-Arizona State Invitational includes 10 squads ranked in the most recent Golfweek Top 25 poll: No. 2 Arizona State, No. 5 Pepperdine, No. 7 Southern California, No. 8 Oklahoma State, No. 9 Stanford, No. 10 Arizona, No. 12 UCLA, No. 15 New Mexico and No. 16 Texas A&M.
“I look for our team to continue to build momentum like we have been doing all spring,” Vanderbilt head coach Martha Richards said. “We want to be competitive from the get-go and be in the hunt for the trophy throughout the weekend.”
Commodore sophomore Jacqui Concolino ranks ninth nationally according to Golfweek’s listings. She owns a 72.95 stroke average this season. Senior Kristen Svicarovich ranks No. 31 and owns the second-best average on the squad at 74.24. Other Vanderbilt players participating this weekend include senior Chris Brady, junior Liebelei Lawrence and freshman Brooke Goodwin.
